Soldier Alif and the Arabic Alphabet

Soldier Alif and the Arabic Alphabet

Soldier Alif is a straight, tall soldier with a tiny voice, but when a big wave threatens the castle, he has no way to warn the Queen of Hurufland to get to safety. Only Parrot Hamza can help him, in the first of thirteen adventures that teach children how to pronounce the letters of the Arabic alphabet.

Each story is told in clear, plain English, with bright illustrations that emulate the shapes of each letter. A perfect introduction to Arabic for children aged 6 months to 8 years. Suitable for use at home, in madrassahs and schools, this book is ideal for teaching in combination with a Qur'an primer (Qaida) at the early stages of letter-learning.

Companion Workbook

The Soldier Alif and the Arabic Alphabet Workbook is the ideal activity collection for children at the letter-learning stage of reading Arabic. Packed with puzzles, mazes, colouring and tracing pages, the workbook is designed to improve children’s letter recognition and writing.

Each story from Soldier Alif and the Arabic Alphabet has its own series of activities, meaning children can pick and choose which tasks to complete, but build familiarity with each letter collection, one at a time. It’s perfect for keeping little hands and minds busy while travelling, in waiting rooms and at home, and an ideal accompaniment to Qaida teaching in madrassahs and schools.
